Gumboots On!

Was scheduled to do a family photo shoot the other day with two little ones.

 Due to the rain, we ended up postponing it until the sun shines.

 So here I was, standing on location, with no subjects...

 my gumboots on, umbrella in one hand and camera in the other.

 So I set out to explore.

There was next to no one around.

It was peaceful, beautiful and just a little bit wet....

but it was a lovely way to start the day.

Where the River Flows...

Headed down to the river today to play in the squishy sand, splash
in the water, soak up some sun & toss rocks in the river. The kids had a lovely time and I had forgotten how peaceful it was to sit and watch the river flow.
 Beautiful, beautiful day!

Wine & Cheese

 Mmm Wine and Cheese!

I would highly recommend taking a trip to the
 Garry Oaks Winery and The Salt Spring Island Cheese Factory & Shop!
The views from the winery are beautiful and I hear the wine is pretty good too ;)

The cheese factory was a lot of fun for the kids. There were lots of animals, then we were able to walk through on a tour of how they make the cheese, and to top it all off we got to test all the cheese we wanted and then sit in their beautiful courtyard and eat yummy frozen fruit bars!

What a treat!

I Dream of a Simple Life...

Just arrived home from a weekend on Salt Spring.

1000 pictures later, I returned with a greater appreciation for the simple life.
